Dr. Vass is an ordained minister, the son and brother of Baptist preachers. His primary occupation was as a dentist before retirement in 2018. He pastored a nondenominational church for 4½ years and was co-pastor of two other churches for over two years.
Before entering dental school, Dr. Vass taught math and physics for one year in college and chemistry and biology for one year in high school. Dr. Vass holds a BS degree in Biology and Chemistry from Virginia Tech, a DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia, a Master of Divinity from Trinity Theological Seminary (the University of Liverpool, England), and a PhD in Theology from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary.
His writing accomplishments include a scientific article, Facial Pain: A Misunderstood Diagnosis published in the Journal of General Dentistry; a book on TMD Disorders; a Theological book: A Reformed View of the Sovereignty of God in a Postmodern World; a memoir: Hell’s Too Good for Some People; a historical fiction novel: Running for the Cross; and a book on the development of post-secularism and post-modernism: Dethroning God. All books are self-published.
Dr. Vass is married to his best friend, Charlotte F. Vass. They have three children, six grandchildren, and live in Noblesville, Indiana.
